Now I normally do not read Historical/Period romance, but I stepped out of my comfort zone for this book. It was a great read. The way the author wrote this story, it flowed effortlessly. You can visualize the balls, parties, dresses, and culture because of the excellent way the author wrote each scene. I was sucked into the story and finished it within one day. As soon as I was done, I immediately looked on Amazon to see if the second book was out. It wasn't.
Socially awkward Samantha is so head strong and independent, she does not want to be married. She prefers country life to fast paced city living.
She has been living with her Sister In Law Whilamenia since her brother's death. Helping to tend the children and re introduce Whilamenia into society after her period of morning. Little did Samantha know that Whilamenia wanted her to find a suitor of her own.
Lord Benjamin was the best friend of Samantha's brother Edward. He was the only one of Edward's friends to meet Samantha as a child, Edward asked Benjamin to be her gaurdian if anything was ever to happen to him. Benjamin never expected to fall for Edward's sister.
Does Benjamin fight his feelings for Samantha and marry her off or will he take her for his own?
If you don't mind cliffhangers, you should definately check out this read. It truly is excellent!
